Overview
We are hiring for our Facilities Maintenance Technician position in preparation for an upcoming retirement. This role plays a crucial part in performing skilled preventative and corrective maintenance on District buildings, systems, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Duties include a broad range of skilled trade tasks, coordination with vendors and contractors, accurate recordkeeping, and the procurement of parts and materials in compliance with established procedures.

Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
MAINTENANCE TASKS: Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled trade tasks for the maintenance, repair, improvement and operation of District buildings, equipment and grounds including, but not limited to, painting, masonry, carpentry, grounds maintenance, plumbing, and heating/cooling systems. Schedules and prioritizes daily tasks in alignment with supervisory guidance. Meets timelines and cost limitations or alerts manager when budget or timelines may be jeopardized. Applies judgement and creativity to repair and/or maintenance issues of a more complex nature and recommends solutions.
HAND TOOLS: Operates a variety of hand and power tools necessary for building maintenance and performs basic repairs on tools. Maintains records of repairs performed.
TRANSPORTS: Transports supplies, parts and materials from various District facilities and vendors as required. Operate various types of equipment to move, load, and unload material as required. Drives or operates a variety of District or rented vehicles and equipment as needed.
SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT: Inspects, tests, repairs and maintains assigned specialized equipment for the District.
PARTS PROCUREMENT: After receiving appropriate approval, purchases equipment and parts as needed to complete tasks using applicable purchasing procedures and guidelines. Solicits bids in partnership with the District’s Procurement and Contracts Administrator as directed.
RECORDS: Ensures accurate input into the District’s enterprise resource planning system to maintain comprehensive maintenance cost records by project and/or location.
VENDOR/CONTRACTOR LIAISON: Acts as a liaison with vendors and contractors regarding coordination, scheduling, and quality of work on assigned maintenance tasks. Provides specifications for scopes of work as needed to support facilities projects.
AFTER-HOURS SUPPORT: Participates in after-hours rotation providing 24×7 facilities maintenance support.

Qualifications
The education and experience minimum requirements below are those typically required for performing the job functions (unless specifically noted to be preferred). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma is required, and some post high school education in technical related fields preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years of work experience in building maintenance trade tasks.

ANTICIPATED TIMELINE:

The target start date is mid-November.
COMPENSATION:
The hourly range for this position is $36.63 – $49.56 per hour. The starting pay assignment is based on a candidate’s bona fide factor analysis in accordance with the District’s pay equity system and the Oregon Equal Pay Act.
WORK LOCATION:
The position primarily works onsite at TVF&R’s Logistics Service Center located at 9991 SW Avery St, Tualatin, OR 97062
