We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper, who not only enjoys their job, but is looking to join an organization that performs meaningful work.
As the Bookkeeper at SWACH, you will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional accounting duties including oversight of biweekly payroll (processed by 3rd party), accounts payable, invoicing and accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and monthly reconciliations. This role also includes some human resource benefits coordination and administrative support work. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Human Resources and works on-site at the SWACH office in Vancouver, WA. There may be an option to perform some work remotely upon approval and as duties allow.
Qualifications: any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is qualifying.
This would typically include:
· At least 3 years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience, including payroll processing.
· Experience with accounting and financial management software, preferably Abila MIP and Microix Purchase Orders.
· Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounting for non-profit organizations and governmental accounting standards.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.
· Proficiency in other standard Microsoft Office applications.
· Tech savvy – comfortable using and learning a wide range of web based and desktop applications including help features and web searches to find solutions to basic and intermediate problems.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
· Highly organized and detail oriented.
· Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
· Willing to answer the same questions repeatedly with patience and professionalism.
· Proven ability to maintain high standards and confidentiality.
· Ability to provide excellent financial, payroll, and HR customer service to a (currently) largely remote workforce.
This position is non-exempt and typically works 30-40 hours per week. The pay range is $26-$30 per hour.
As a full-time employee of SWACH, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package which includes 9 paid holidays plus one floating holiday per calendar year and an annual accrual of paid time off up to 20 days. We also offer employer paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees (family member coverage available at cost), flexible spending account, long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance. SWACH will make a fully vested safe harbor non-elective contribution to an established 401(k) Savings Plan on behalf of each employee equal to 3% of the employee’s pay, per pay period.
