Are you interested in providing complex administrative support in Metro’s Parks and Nature department and furthering the department’s mission of protecting water quality, fish, and wildlife habitat, and creating opportunities to enjoy nature close to home through a connected system of parks, trails, and natural areas? Do you want the outcomes of economic, environmental, and cultural equity to drive your work? If so, you might be the right person to fill our new Parks and Nature Administrative Specialist position.

As the Parks and Nature Administrative Specialist you will:

Provide a full range of administrative services for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team and the Special Projects and Critical Initiatives team: scheduling and calendar management, meeting and communication coordination, drafting and editing copy for web and print, processing printing orders and mailings, planning and managing events, supporting staff members as they lead community engagement events, assisting with purchasing and leading file management needs in accordance with retention policy.
Support Parks and Nature’s Equity Advisory Committee: serving as primary point of contact, supporting agenda development and pre-meeting communication, creating accessible print and visual materials, providing meeting support in advance and at meetings, and taking meeting notes.
Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases; track data and create reports as requested.
Suggest and create process improvement tools to track key project information and streamline or clarify processes.
Assist with and manage department-wide processes and projects.
Provide back-up to other members of the admin team.
Attend and support in-person meetings, events, and trainings, as business needs require.
Minimum qualifications: 

High school diploma or G.E.D.; AND
Three years of progressively responsible experience at a senior management level in an administrative support capacity; OR
We will consider any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Work environment: 

This position works a consistent 40-hour per week schedule Monday through Friday, with occasional events and meetings outside of one’s regular schedule. Work occurs in a standard office setting more than 95% of the time. This position can primarily telework but will need to attend in-person meetings, events, and trainings, as business needs require.
