Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time, temporary, Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 2. This position manages the campus fitness center and over sees operations of the facility. The work schedule for this position may vary but will typically include approximately 30 hours per week and may include some Saturdays and/or evening hours.
Performs a variety of duties such as marketing the college’s fitness center and all that it offers to students, faculty, staff, and our community members. Good communication skills will be an asset as you interact with our diverse population.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Manage Fitness Center open hours and coordinate Fitness Testing Lab open hours
Recruit, hire, train and supervise student staff for the Fitness Center
Track student hours for work-study students
Develop, maintain and enforce Fitness Center Policies and Procedures
Select and order fitness-related equipment and supplies
Maintain inventory and oversee, repair, and maintain all instructional Fitness Center equipment/supplies
Maintain orderliness of all equipment storage closets, change rooms, and locker rooms.
Oversee the set-up and take-down of instructional lab class equipment
Attend HPE Division meetings as requested
Coordinate with the Cashier’s office regarding Fitness Center memberships
Develop and coordinate fitness and wellness opportunities for Clark students, faculty, and staff (including incentive programs, body composition analysis, fitness testing, and exercise prescription)
Serve on the campus wellness committee
Prepare and maintain Fitness Center usage reports
Set up and maintain laundering systems
Oversee towel pick-up and distribution
Enforce facility safety rules and eligibility requirements
Hold safety training workshops for fitness center staff members at least once per quarter
Update first aid kits and spill kits with supplies
Conduct CPR/FA training for students and faculty in programs requiring certification
Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
Bachelor’s degree in fitness or wellness-related field
CPR/First Aid/AED instructor certified
Training/experience with facility safety and management
Supervisory experience (scheduling, budgets, managing people)
Training/experience with fitness testing equipment and protocols
Training/experience facilitating people to meet their health and fitness goals
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups and individuals
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Starting Salary: $20.45/hour
